The Chinese phone maker OPPO announced its latest smartphone, OPPO F5 at an event in the Philippines after months of promotions and ads. OPPO F5 is the successor to OPPO F3. Possibly being the only phone manufacturer which endorses ‘Selfie’ than anything else, the latest device from the OPPO house delivers what it is promised to.
The phone sports a 16MP primary camera, and a 20MP secondary camera that comes with A.I. The secondary camera outperforms most of the smartphone cameras in the market, given its impressive 1/2.8 inch sensor. The phone comes with a 6-Inch Full HD+ display with a standard aspect ratio of 18:9. The ‘LTPS IPS LCD’ display helps in providing larger pixel densities.
Apart from the camera and improved display technology, the only other stand out in F5 is the availability of storage and memory. F5 comes in 64GB 6GB RAM and 32GB 4GAM RAM variants. The 3200 mAh non-removable Li-ion battery is sufficient to power this giant for one whole day of medium-heavy use.
The phone runs on Android 7.1 (Nougat) with ColorOS 3.2. There aren’t many upgrades in the chipset department. OPPO F5 functions on Octa-core A53 CPU and Mali-G71 MP2 GPU. Fingerprint reader and AI Face Unlock provide security other than the traditional pattern/pin format. The company has confirmed that Fingerprint reader is more secure than the AI Face unlock. Network, connectivity and the sound are just a carry-forward from F3.
The 64GB 6GB variant is only available in Red, while the 32GB 4GB variant is available in Black, Gold, and Red. The 32GB 4GB variant is expected to be priced at INR 19,990. The phone comes with a premium all-metal unibody design and bezel-free design.
